Old Boot sign

The Boot at Freston. Opening pretty much around now-ish.

The original building dates way back and legend has it that Freston was the site of the last recorded case of the Black Death in England. A couple of minutes from the A12 and A14, a stone’s throw from the River Orwell with views over the iconic bridge The Boot stands at the gateway to the Shotley Peninsula – ideal as a base camp for ramblers & cyclists. Alton Water & the Royal Hospital School are a couple of minutes down the road.

We’ve installed a massive kitchen garden, a wedding paddock (a field enclosed by woods, perfect for a beautiful marquee), a large & rambling pub garden stretching out across the hill, a kombucha brewery, demo area, chickens, ducks, bees & snails. Oh, and a CINEMA!!!
