Have a browse through some of our photos to see the journey the Boot has been on over the last couple of years. The 400 year old building has been restored to a beautiful standard and given a new lease of life, with integrated up-to-date technology and innovative features (hats off to The Really Good Carpentry Co).
The open kitchen features a woodburning oven, and the on-site cold smoker adds an extra element to the mainly home-grown food featured on the two menus. The Boot menu features classic pub style dishes – all homemade and using the best Suffolk produce. We’ve linked up with several fantastic breweries throughout England, and have a unique selection of spirits and fabulous wines.
We have a wedding paddock with space for up to 150 in beautiful tipis – guests can stroll through the large & rambling pub garden (maybe after a session on our petanque pistes) into our massive kitchen garden loaded with heritage English fruit & vegetables. Sit amongst the trees and admire the view out over the River Orwell taking in the duck pond, chickens, snail beds & bee hives in the neighbouring wild flower meadow. Or book a summer function in our greenhouse area.
We also have our outside cooking area with a rocket pizza oven and the use of several Heath Robinson-esque barbecue contraptions to add an extra theatrical element to our cooking as well as providing space for cookery demos and talks.
Come down for a tour and a chat and see how we’re striving to take the English pub forward.
